March 2010 Newsletter #1

New American Vision is proud to celebrate its client Wolfe Releasing's 25th Anniversary!

25 years ago, before Wolfe became one of the world's largest exclusive distributor of gay and lesbian films in the world, movies like Brokeback Mountain and Precious, based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, could not have existed, let alone garner nationwide distribution; films depicting gay and lesbian lifestyles were largely under the radar.

Cut to 2010: Wolfe is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a legacy of acquiring and distributing more than 300 films.

“Wolfe’s vision 25 years ago was that gay and lesbian people would be empowered if they could see positive images of themselves in the media,” says Founder and CEO Kathy Wolfe.

“You have to remember what gay and lesbian entertainment looked like 25 years ago — essentially closeted — to get an idea of just how far the industry has come. Wolfe was one of our earliest pioneers,” explains actress and comedian Lily Tomlin, whose landmark film, The Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, was one of Wolfe’s first mainstream crossovers. “After 25 years, Wolfe is still acquiring, promoting and cultivating the next generation of gay and lesbian filmmakers and films from all over the globe. I’m eager to see what Wolfe will bring us next.”

(and so while we're on that topic of “what's next…”)

NEW FILMS FROM WOLFE RELEASING!

ELENA UNDONE
A new film by Nicole Conn

About the Film:

From veteran acclaimed director Nicole Conn (CLAIRE OF THE MOON), comes a story about shattering pre-conceived notions of love. Peyton and Elena are, on the surface, diametrically opposed — one a lesbian writer, the other a religious wife and mother. What begins as friendship quickly blossoms into something deeper. Despite Peyton’s reservations, Elena pushes the relationship into a full-blown affair. The two women fall deeply in love, both keenly aware a future together might be little more than a dream.

But if everything she ever wanted is becoming a reality, why is her life falling apart?
